Nanette's Needles

I know it’s been awhile…

Posted on: January 16, 2011

I have to apologize for not posting for so long. (I’m making a huge assumption that anybody’s actually reading this blog.) My laptop died and it took me a few days to get a new one and get it configured. The biggest problem was not having access to my passwords until I got all my data transferred. (That was downright uncomfortable.)

Ok – no more tech talk. I’m at a transition point with my Amy shrug. The back pattern band requires casting on more stitches than the original cast on count and that just doesn’t seem right – what with the diagram showing the back band being the same width as the front band. This means I need to either partially bast the shrug together and measure it (have I mentioned how big this thing is?) or I have to contact the designer and ask her why the back pattern band cast on stitch count is different. Needless to say, I haven’t done either yet.

I’ve been known to let weeks go by without progress when I’m at a transition point in the project. And every time I start thinking I’ll just cast on the original stitch count and hang the consequences – well, then I’m back at basting and measuring.

I think I’ll email the designer and work on the bear in the meantime. (Have I mentioned the bear? It’s one of the 3 active projects I had going when I started this blog.)
