Nanette's Needles

There should be an Unravelry…

What is it about openwork knitting? I can have some days when the most complicated stitch goes without a hitch. Other days (like the last few) I can’t do a fairly straight-forward 6-count pattern stitch to save my life.

I don’t know how many times I’ve unknit these last few rows (unpurled, unslipstitched…). I finally got the first problem row done (on the nth attempt), completed the following purled row and then ran smack into it again on the next row. On the third try, I realized I’d managed to drop a stitch somewhere. I counted – honestly I did! I’m a dedicated user of stitch counters. (That’s whole ‘nother story…)

I don’t know. This is the last piece of the Amy Shrug and I’m dying to move on to something else. It gets to the point where I’m not even dying to wear it – I’m just dying to move on!
